Heart of the Hills is a faith-based nonprofit serving women, men, and families across the Hill Country with free, life-affirming medical care, education, resources, and ongoing support. When a woman walks through our doors — or reaches out through her phone at 2 a.m. — we meet her with love, compassion, clarity, and hope. Every client receives individualized, confidential care through our comprehensive 15-Step Client Process, which assesses needs, risks, safety, and long-term stability. From the very first pregnancy test to postpartum care, we walk with families every step of the way.
Our medical services provide lab-quality pregnancy testing, limited obstetric ultrasounds, STI testing and treatment, and access to immediate guidance through our 24/7 Nurse Line. Through targeted digital outreach and geofencing, abortion-vulnerable women searching for answers online are met with truth-based, compassionate support before they encounter misinformation. Our Thrive Program offers women and families a pathway to stability through emergency and transitional housing, nutritional assistance, reliable transportation or vehicle repair, rent assistance, counseling, job stability, and financial planning — all designed to build long-term independence and dignity.
We also equip families through education and support, including our Earn While You Learn classes, prenatal and parenting programs, fatherhood mentoring, life-skills training, lactation support, and access to our Braveheart Unique Boutique, where clients shop for essentials using the points they earn. Through educational, emotional and spiritual care, clients receive one-on-one advocacy support.
Because of partners like you, Heart of the Hills continues to expand the reach and impact of our services. This year, we provided 168 pregnancy tests, 229 ultrasounds, completed over 840 educational classes, answered women in crisis through our 24/7 nurse hotline, and geofenced nearly 800 abortion-related searches every month to ensure women find hope instead of fear. Our Thrive Program continues to stabilize families, and we’ve seen a 33% increase in client appointments as more women find the help they desperately need.
